ShiftBud Generative MIDI AUv3 Overview
ShiftBud is a random looping generative MIDI sequencer inspired by the eurorack module Turing Machine. It utilizes 16-bit shift register chips to shift values on each sequencer step. By adjusting the chaos knob, you can control the sequence length and randomness. With low chaos, sequences "flip" occasionally, creating beautiful patterns, while higher chaos levels generate random values.
The program offers MIDI note generation in over 110 scales and custom ScaleBud 2 scales. Users can adjust octave range, velocity, and velocity randomness. Additionally, ShiftBud allows setting boundaries for MIDI Control Change generation, enabling modulation of synth parameters and AU parameters within the app. Pattern creation is unlimited, with the ability to select patterns using MIDI CC messages.
